Yeeeeeeees 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 This is exactly what I didn't know I needed today, Carmen - míle buíochas for placing these words on the page and then putting them out into the world!
Thank you for this! I totally needed to read it this morning and get this reminder. It is so easy to fall into grief around where we are and how do we move forward. Also I love the analogy of the secret garden! It was one of my favourite books growing up! We all need more Mary in us!
Beautifully put, Carmen! I agree that we need businesses out there operating from new principles -- ones of love and alignment, that can see the possibilities in a neglected garden. But more importantly, I think it's critical that we reclaim the garden, not for ourselves and our own gain as extractive capitalism has taught us, but so that it can be enjoyed by everyone. It is for everyone, not just a select few. (Have you dug into regenerative capitalism at all yet?)
I completely agree about reclaiming the gardens as an act of reciprocity for all, not just a select few. I've only just started dipping my toes into regenerative capitalism. Do you have any recommendations, Brandi?
